(Original Caption) The casket of Captain Baron Manfred von Richthofen, the German ace of aces, and chosen as the national war hero of the country, as it was born to its final resting place in the Invaliden Cemetery at Berlin. The gallant airman was brought down in 1918, after having brought down countless allied planes, and was buried on the Somme battlefields. He was brought from the scene of his conquests to be buried in his fatherland. President Hindenburg is shown in the background together with other notables who attended the ceremonies.
