This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks

About Charles Taylor
My goals as an artist are to produce illustrations and fine art images with military and aviation subject matter. Because of my interest in WWII history and aviation, my compositions are influenced largely by events of that era. The medium that I work in is acrylic on illustration board; while I have used watercolor, chalk and graphite in the past. I have experience with drafting and have a strong attention to fine detail. For years I have been involved with the various veterans and aviation organizations; working air shows and reunions since a very young age. I do extensive research through books, past discussions with veterans, documentaries, and building of the appropriate modeling kits. I use photo references taken over the years...

This looks like a "red tail", one of the planes the Tuskegee Airmen flew during WWII.

I bought a 28 x 36 print for my Husband's 73 birthday. He builds WWII airplane and tank models. It arrived today and he was thrilled with it. Now he is intent on researching the pilot, plane etc. Great job on the painting. Do you have any background info about this painting to share?
